King Arthur wasn’t wise

He just didn’t know how

To hold his lover’s eyes

And while all the world adored him

He forsook his greatest prize

King Arthur’s hands were cold

Truth be told, he was a knave

Slaying dark knights is easy

Giving your heart is brave

King Arthur was an impostor

His smile hid the plot

And while she slept

His treachery crept

And robbed her of Camelot

King Arthur was a tyrant

So simple was his task

Yet so many days she went unheard

Soon she forgot to ask

No more praising mad men

Or turning blind eyes to their defect

While demanding Queens and Peasant Girls

Bend so sweetly round neglect

The empires are crumbling

The purer hearts have overcome

The Days of Kings are over,

The Nights of Truth have come.
